When more is better – FIBER! Check out the link about a recent article in Lancet that reinforced that high fiber intake (25-29 grams per day) reduces the risk of numerous conditions including cardiovascular related death, stroke, type 2 diabetes, colon cancer, and mortality from all-causes. What is really fascinating is that pushing fiber even higher, to OVER 30 GRAMS OF FIBER PER DAY, led to even GREATER PROTECTION against colorectal and breast cancer, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.
