WALKING FOR WEIGHT LOSS

We all know that eating right and getting plenty of exercise are the “simple” secrets to good health. However, to some the idea of “exercising” brings about images of sweating over a stationary bike or running a marathon. These images can be intimidating or even FRIGHTENING! I have found that the only fitness programs I consistently stick to are the ones I find enjoyable. For me, walking is an enjoyable and an essential exercise routine. I say enjoyable because this is my “me time” when I take the dog out for a walk. (She finds this enjoyable as well!) I listen to audiobooks, podcasts or catch up with a friend over the phone. I say essential because I find that if I miss a day or two, my mood starts to dip. For me, this can start a vicious cycle because often my mood dictates my eating habits. Good mood, good choices and vice versa…
