Educational Background

Katie graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Shortly after graduation, she began working at Glenbrook Hospital in the ambulatory surgery department as a certified nurses aid. Over the next 11 years, Katie worked as an ophthalmic technician. During that time, Katie was fortunate enough to be able to stay home with her young children. Having that time at home with her children was the catalyst that helped her achieve her goal of becoming a registered nurse. She graduated from the College of Lake County with her associates degree in nursing and promptly started her nursing career at Lake Forest Hospital in the Ambulatory Surgery/PACU department. She then completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing from North Park University and proudly obtained her CAPA (Certified Ambulatory PeriAnesthesia Nurse) certification. She was then promoted to Operations Coordinator of the UCC/PACU. Before coming to Comprehensive Gastrointestinal Health Katie worked 2 years at NorthShore Glenbrook Hospital as their PACU clinical coordinator. Katie is especially happy to be able to further build upon her experience and is proud to work along side this wonderful team at Comprehensive Gastrointestinal Health.

Personal Life

Katie currently resides in Volo with her husband and 2 teenaged children. Katie loves spending time with family, and looks forward to fun family dinners, special group outings, birthday celebrations, and an annual camping trip to Wisconsin. Katie has been blessed with many great friendships over the years with some going as far back as grade school. Katie is an animal lover, and her love for animals starts at home with her English Springer Spaniel and an occasional foster pup from a local rescue. In her free time, Katie enjoys playing sand & indoor volleyball, going out to new restaurants, and traveling…She is always looking to plan the next trip!
