DIETITIAN JULIE ADAMS ATTENDS A CULINARY MEDICINE COURSE!
So, you have a new medical diagnosis with coinciding nutrition therapy. Or maybe you are just trying to improve the quality of your diet. Now what? The changes seem straightforward…until you try to put them in action. If only nutrition prescriptions were as easy as taking a pill!
With a few hacks, even the most kitchen-phobic patients can create simple, healthful meals at home. Take it from registered dietitian, Julie Adams, who recently cooked up a storm at Tulane Medical School’s Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine in New Orleans as part of her Culinary Medicine Specialist certification. Founded in 2012, GCCM is the country’s first dedicated teaching kitchen to provide culinary medicine training to medical students and licensed medical professionals. Working alongside doctors and other clinicians from across the country, Julie assessed case studies and translated treatments into delicious, healthy meals to address a variety of conditions.
